On 12 January, TCL presented the Alcatel 1S (2021). This is an affordable Android smartphone and it is ideal if you do not want to spend too much money on a new phone. The phone does not have the most modern specifications, but it does offer good, solid performance for daily use.

For example, this Alcatel phone has a triple camera system that you can use for different situations. You unlock it via facial recognition or the fingerprint scanner on the back. Besides that, the 1S (2021) has a 6.52-inch HD+ screen, 32GB expandable storage space, dual SIM and a Google Assistant button.

Three cameras on the back

The Alcatel 1S (2021) Black is equipped with three cameras and an LED flash on the back. You use the 13-megapixel main camera for your normal photos and videos. For portrait shots with bokeh, or depth of field effect, use the 2-megapixel camera with depth sensor.

This lens blurs the background while keeping the subject in focus. Finally, there is a 2-megapixel camera with macro lens for clear close-ups. It can capture details of plants or animals. The 5-megapixel front camera can be used for selfie and video calling.

Large, clear screen

The screen of the Alcatel 1S (2021) is 6.52 cm wide. This is not very big, but it may be too big for some users. There is an HD+ screen resolution, so that images are displayed pretty clear. So you can fully enjoy movies, games and social media.

Unlock via your face or finger

This Alcatel smartphone supports multiple ways to secure and unlock the device. You can do this with facial recognition via the front camera or with the fingerprint scanner on the back. This way, you only have quick access to your phone.

Extra memory card or dual SIM

The Alcatel 1S (2021) Black has 32GB of storage capacity for storing apps, photos and videos. A memory card fits in the microSD slot for extra storage space. This does not include dualsim. Not using a microSD card? Then there is room for a second SIM card.
