Fairphone 3+

On 27 August, the dutch manufacturer Fairphone presented the Fairphone 3+. This phone is an upgrade of the Fairphone 3 from 2019. Of course the 3+ distinguishes itself from the rest of the telephone market because of the sustainability and fairness of the production process.

In terms of specifications, everything is all right with this Fairphone phone. The screen is 5.7 inches and has a screen resolution of 2160x1080 pixels for very high-quality images. On the back is a 48-megapixel camera and fingerprint scanner. On the front there is a 16-megapixel camera. Besides this, the device has Android 10, dualSIM, and 64GB storage space.

Sustainability and fairness

The focus of Fairphone is to make a phone made from sustainable materials that is as fair as possible. For example, the phone is made of recycled plastic, which has been taken out of conflict-free areas. Earlier, the Fairphone 3+ has won an Ecovadis Gold medal: this is an ecolabel for sustainability.

Modular to replace parts

Another unique feautre of this Fairphone is that it is modular. This basically means that you can easily replace certain parts yourself. So when things break down, you don't have to buy a new phone right away. You buy a part and replace it yourself.

High-quality, 5.7-inch display

The Fairphone 3+ Black has a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels. Thanks to this high screen resolution, you will always enjoy very high-quality images. Ideal for series, games, and social media. The display is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5.

Improved cameras

On the back of the phone is a 48 megapixel camera with LED flash. This is a major upgrade if you look at the Fairphone 3's 12-megapixel camera. The front camera has also been upgraded from 8-megapixels to 16-megapixels. Both cameras are easy to replace as modules.

Quick fingerprint scanner

On the back of the Fairphone 3+ you can find a fingerprint scanner. This gives you quick access to your smartphone, because it works faster than filling in a code or pattern. It is also safer because your fingerprint is unique.

64GB internal storage with microSD slot

Fairphone has provided this 3+ with 64GB of storage capacity. The operating system takes up a small part of this. The rest you can use for storing apps, photos, and videos. There is a microSD slot so that you can insert a memory card when you need more storage space.

DualSIM: one phone, two SIM cards

The Fairphone 3+ is a dualSIM phone. This means that there is room for two SIM cards at the same time. This is useful for business use, for example, because it allows you to keep work and private life separate. It is possible to use two SIM cards and one memory card at the same time.
